The Charleston City Market is a historic public market located in downtown Charleston, South Carolina. Established in the late 18th century, it spans four city blocks from Meeting Street to East Bay Street. Today, visitors can explore a diverse array of handmade crafts, local art, jewelry, and gourmet treats. A standout feature is the Gullah sweetgrass baskets, crafted by Gullah artisans using traditional methods passed down through generations .


The market operates daily from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM and is open 364 days a year, closing only on Christmas Day .
